2. What data we collect
We collect personal data through three main channels: the contact forms on this website, direct enquiries by phone or email, and our subscription list for the Woodcraft journal.
Information you give us through the contact forms
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Information about your project (location, type, budget band, timescale, description)
- Any documents or drawings you choose to upload
Information we may collect automatically when you visit the site
- We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service. Plausible does not use cookies, does not track you across sites, and does not collect personally identifiable information. It records aggregate, anonymised data about how the site is used.
- Our servers automatically log information such as your IP address (hashed for rate-limiting purposes and not stored in raw form), browser type, and page accessed. This data is held for no longer than 30 days.
Information we collect via our newsletter
- Your email address only.
3. How we use your data
We use the data you provide solely to respond to your enquiry, to manage any subsequent project relationship with you, and (if you have subscribed) to send you our journal digest.
We do not share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not sell your data. We will share your data only where legally required to do so.
The lawful basis for our processing of contact form data islegitimate interest, specifically, our interest in responding to enquiries about our services. The lawful basis for our newsletter processing is consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email.

5. Third parties who process your data
We use the following third parties to provide our services:
- Supabase (Amazon Web Services, EU-West-2 London region), database and file storage. Your enquiry data is stored on Supabase infrastructure within the European Economic Area.
- Resend, transactional email delivery. Your name and email may be processed by Resend when we send you a response or auto-reply.
- Plausible Analytics (EU), privacy-friendly site analytics. Plausible collects no personal data.
- Cloudflare (global edge network), hosting and CDN. Cloudflare may process your IP address briefly for traffic routing.
We have data processing agreements in place with each of these providers and reviewed their compliance with UK GDPR.
6. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify any inaccuracies in your data
- Erase your data (subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records)
- Restrict how we process your data
- Object to our processing of your data
- Data portability, to receive your data in a structured machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is our lawful basis (e.g. for newsletter)

If you believe we have not handled your data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) atico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
7. Cookies
This website does not use cookies.
We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless by design. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, or any other cookie-based tracking.
The only data stored locally in your browser is anonymous form state (during multi-step form completion) which is cleared when you close the tab.
8. Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. Substantive changes will be highlighted in our journal.
